What if I am not happy with the results (Crisalix 3D Simulation)

Before you undergo the surgery, it is recommended you do a Crisalix 3D simulation to see the results of the surgery in 3D. This will help you make up your mind on the shape, size and projection of the breasts post breast augmentation.

Crisalix 3D simulation in Delhi is a simple technology during which the surgeon uses a 3D camera to capture the current images of the patient’s breast from different angles. These images are then uploaded into the advanced Crisalix 3D imaging software. This helps to create the base for further specifications to be added to the patient’s body structure, which becomes visible in the enhanced 3D images. The software is programmed to accept the specifics and add to the patient’s figure and show the results of the chosen procedure on a 3D visual model of the patient. With 3D Simulation, one can simulate different implant sizes, shapes and projections of breasts.

Crisalix 3D Simulation technology is only available with Dr Rajat Gupta in India. To book your Crisalix 3D Simulation, click here.

Once you undergo the procedure and you still don’t like the results of the surgery, you can opt for getting the implants removed and go back to your original breasts pre-operation.

Breast Implants Replacement

Breast implants are not sustainable throughout a person’s life. They may need a replacement after 15 years or so. The shape of breasts will change due to ageing, weight going up or down, other hormonal factors and gravity.

It is always good to keep visiting your surgeon to get the implants checked for their condition, and breast health. Depending upon the existing health, need and condition of implants, the surgeon may recommend a replacement of implants along with a breast lift procedure, to restore the youthful breast contour.

Now that we are aware of the procedure, let us now take a look at the various kinds of implants available. It is always good to make a sensible choice of implant, after a thorough consultation and recommendation from the doctor.

Breast Implants and Breast Feeding

Breast implants procedure if done by a board-certified plastic surgeon with the correct technique doesn’t affect future lactation or breastfeeding. For the same, we consulted Dr Rajat Gupta, a board certifies a plastic surgeon about the myths of breast implants and breastfeeding. He concluded, “With periareolar incision, the surgeon goes through the gland and make a pocket behind the gland or behind the muscle. In this process, there may be chances of lactiferous ducts getting injured and thus causing issues in future lactation. Whereas, with inframammary incision, the surgeon can go directly behind the breast gland to create a pocket with sub-glandular or dual plane, which is behind the muscle. Since with this approach, the gland is not touched, there is no chance of lactiferous ducts getting injured and therefore there is no problem with future lactation.

Breast Implants and Cancer

Cases of a rare type of cancer linked to breast implants known as anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) or nowadays known as breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) appear to be on the rise. US-FDA recognized the link between implants and anaplastic large cell lymphoma and received many cases of cancer linked to breast implants. But in almost all of the cases of BIA-ALCL, the women had textured breast implants.

When we raised our concern to a top plastic surgeon, Dr Rajat Gupta, he said: “most of the cases of cancer caused due to breast implant were where texture implants were used and we haven’t seen any cancer cases linked to smooth implants or nano-textured implants.”

Certificate

Nanotextured implants were introduced after the rising levels of cancer reports due to textured implants. Nano-textured implants have had no cases of cancer but they are relatively new. Smooth Implants; however have been in use for past 2 decades and there has been no reported case of cancer linked to these implants.

Researchers say the possible cause of ALCL could be due to the inflammation in the breast due to the insertion of the textured implant. And when the breast tissue grows into the surface of a textured implant, the inflammation is extended. Chronic inflammation is known to cause lymphoma.

According to US-FDA, the risk of BIA-ALCL from implants is small, but one should get regular checkups to post the surgery to recognize the possible risks and be aware of any symptoms in order to spot cancer.
